Description: Vintage Coke Bottle Crate The sides are embossed Detroit Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Just to put an era on this, the patent number on the crate was issued in 1969 so the crate was an early manufacture. For a company that has always been image conscious, the style of the crate exhibits a remarkable lack of attention to detail as Coca Cola embraced this new technology. Early plastic crates seem to be excessively rare since most people were saving wood crates during the technology transition. This is the only example I can find of a partitioned plastic Coke crate from this era. This is not an iconic Coca Cola display piece, but it is definitely rare. This crate has signs of heavy use and exposure. The red plastic has faded to orange. The side of one partition is broken. There is a deep cut into one one layer of plastic along a short edge. Holds 24 bottles. The crate measures about 18 1/2 x 11 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches Please see the pictures! XPSU2207
