Description: This spectacular Corocraft hinged bangle was designed by Alfred Katz in 1939. Carmen Miranda wore two of them in the film, "A Date with Judy" (1948). You can see the scene on youtube. Two large green cabochons are bezel set in the center of Camelia blossoms which include many crystal rhinestones. Four large red cabochons are prong set as the center of flowers encrusted with crystal rhinestones. Smaller blue pear shaped cabochons are held by rhinestone encrusted stems. Leaves are enameled in blue and green. The clasp includes a safety chain. Inside measurement: 2 5/16". Width: 1 1/2". Condition is very good with no missing stones. There is a small amount of enamel loss to some of the leaves. The piece is signed on a rectangular plaque on the inside. Carmen Miranda was a Portuguese-born Brazilian singer, dancer, and actress. Nicknamed "The Brazilian Bombshell", she was known for her signature fruit hat outfit that she wore in her American films.
