Description: STUNNING Vintage 1950s DRIP GLAZE ITALY Dish/Bowl Hand Made Hand Formed Pottery MID CENTURY MODERN style is exaggerated and elongated in form, either a dish or a bowl depending upon interpretation. Ends are straight 'snub nose ends'Fabulous glazing and coloration on this piece- the best of the best. Base is a banana gold color and the inside of the dish has very inventive pulled DRIP GLAZE patterns in interconnecting squares and pulled feathering.Bottom of bowl has a deep brown translucent glaze which has sparkly bronze metallic dust in it which reflects light like magicOther colors are red drip 'blobs' and turquoise green accents towards the 2 ends.Lighter creamy yellow drip glaze towards the inner rimSits up on a slightly footed baseSigned by hand on back 'Italy 6' , heavy and substantial solid weight Incredibly beautiful design from ANY angle, truly a work of ArtSize Approx. 12.25"Long, 2.1/16" High, just under 4.5" Wide,Footed base is 6" x 3" Excellent Condition- no chips, nicks, cracks, scratches, damage or repairs. Glaze and colors in great shape, colors vibrant and with a very high gloss. This is a stunning bowl for display, a real Art piece and wonderful for a collector.Age estimated at mid 1950s but it may be as late as early 1960s when experimental Mod Pottery became very fashionable This is a magnificent piece.
