This pencil is made from crafted from faux pearl plastic, tastefully striated, with black section and chrome-plated steel clip, writing cone, and eraser cap. It bears a promotion for Sherwin-Reynolds, a Chicago metal fabrication company. Please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this exceptional Dur-O-Lite pencil should join your collection. This Dur-O-Lite pencil is in clean, superb condition. It measures 5⅜” long by 7/16" wide. There are no chips, cracks, or scuffs, and I don’t even see any typical evidence of use. It shines brilliantly, as pictured. Plus, the metal parts have no oxidation and the clip rests firmly against the barrel with no gap. Also, the promo graphics are in great shape with no enamel attrition noted. Recently discovered after decades of desk drawer storage, this remarkable pencil looks practically new. Most importantly, this pencil works perfectly with its simple and dependable spiraling mechanism. Rotation of the writing cone extends the lead and retraction, when needed, is accomplished manually. Plus, the original eraser is unused and still pliable, and there’s a supply of original leads in the typical recess underneath the cradle. Lastly, this vintage Dur-O-Lite is well-balanced with proper mass and feels very nice on paper, especially with the larger, soft lead of yesteryear!
