Without windmills, like the ones painted onto the earrings in this listing, the country of the Netherlands (formerly called Holland) would be mostly underwater. The pair of earrings in this listing has a silver hallmark found on the screw back mechanism used for attaching the earrings to the earlobe. The blades of each windmill rotate freely and all aspects of these exquisite earrings function beautifully. There is some discoloration on the back of the blades but it does not take away from the visual of these items.
