Description: Greetings vintage knife collectors ! For your consideration is a small hunting style fixed blade knife marked β οΈ F.HERDER A. Sn SOLINGEN - GERMANY This knife is in great shape for its age. I spent some time polishing the blade, but strictly by hand. Someone with a wheel and more patience could really make it shine ! I was told it was from the 1970βs,but I canβt find anything to support that. It looks like Herder was putting their signature and logo much further up the side of the blade by then. And in a much larger format. It think this knife is much older, but I havenβt found any solid references to back that up. The Friedrich Herder company has been in business since 1727. The Pikas β οΈ marking was introduced around that time. Its very well made with a nice piece of reddish brown wood for the grip. It is a little on the small side with the blade being just over 3-1/2β long, and a total length of a little under 7-1/2β . Please look closely at the attached images. They are a part of the description and help provide a good idea as to the condition of this knife !
