Description: This is a classic Favorite No 5 cast iron skillet. Favorite skillets were only made for a few years, 1916 to 1935 and are now about 90 to 100 years old. The cooking surface has patches of very fine etching from corrosion and hints of light utensil scores. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a glass smooth surface. The pan does not sit flat on a polished granite surface. No recommended for use on a ceramic stovetop. No issue for use on a gas range. No chips, cracks or repairs. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
