Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE ***********Although the AS 1906 automatic movement keeps accurate time over an approximate 43 hour power reserve period and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should given that it has been several decades since the movement was last serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.*********** This seldom seen vintage early 1970's Glycine diver has under the damaged crystal a lovely powder blue "SWISS MADE" signed dial and the original lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The stainless steel bezel shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERRESISTANT TO 600 FEET SHOCKRESISTANT ANTIMAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE" with "GLYCINE WATCH CO" followed by "SWITZERLAND,""AS 1906" and "10682" stamped on the inside. The crystal needs to be replaced as microfractures can be seen when the watch is held at various angles in certain lighting conditions. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "GLYCINE WATCH Co" stamped AS 1906 automatic movement with semi-quickset date keeps accurate time and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. This movement does not have a semi-quickset day function. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 43 hour power reserve period. The crown winds with friction. It's likely that at a minimum the crown's rubber gasket has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Given that this watch is more than 50 years old and considering that it has been several decades since the movement was last serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 42 mm. A complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking! ***********Although the AS 1906 automatic movement keeps accurate time over an approximate 43 hour power reserve period and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should given that it has been several decades since the movement was last serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.***********
