This is a rare vintage Buescher Soprano Saxophone in the key of C. It is not in the key of Bb like most sopranos. This means you can read with the piano music without having to transpose, and you will match the piano sound. The key of this saxophone is C, and it matches the piano concert pitch. As an example, when I finger a Bb on the soprano, the pitch produced is Concert Bb on the piano. It measures approximately 22" This instrument, made in the United States, is perfect for those who want to elevate their musical abilities and explore new sounds. Plays as is, but it could use an adjustment, regulation, and cleaning. It has a vintage smell. The pads are in decent condition. You will want to get this saxophone regulated and adjusted at the least or overhauled. I'm able to play it up and down to the low notes, but it definitely needs to be serviced. In excellent condition for a vintage piece. There are some minor dings, scratches, wear, and blemishes. Please refer to the pictures. Of note, there is a resolder under the g# key area that is on full display in the pictures. Also, there are 2 indentation dings very close to the thumb hook, one under the thumb hook and the other above the low C# key cup. The bell, which is slightly out of round, can be addressed by a skilled repairman. We have not made any attempts to regulate, clean, or service this gem. We will leave that to the next owner. I'm certain a highly skilled repairman will be able to do a complete restoration overhaul service to this gem and restore it to its former and future glory. Then, it will be the complete horn it's intended to be. If you're a collector, this would be a nice rare piece to add to your collection.
