Description: Up for sale is a vintage Goya T-23 Full-sized dreadnought guitar (Made in Sweden by Levin) with a serial number of 311914. A few of the Levin / Goya guitar history websites place this serial number in the year 1966. The guitar comes in the original Goya case, which has the logo towards the top, where the headstock rests. The case is lined in a bright golden velvet material, and it has a small compartment where a small adjustment tool can be found. It looks like a truss rod tool. The case is in rough condition, but all of the hinges are still intact and the mechanisms open and close it, and will keep it closed. The case is fairly dusty or dirty around the edges. The guitar has some really beautiful pearloid inlays up the neck and up the outside edges of the fretboard as well. The original label is still nicely intact, and the inside of the guitar looks clean with the exception of some minor dust and occasional stains from what might have been a humidifier. If you look at the label very closely, you can see that it is positioned over top of another label. The guitar will most likely need a neck reset, but it looks to be a bolt on neck. There is almost no saddle left. The neck looks to be fairly straight, and the truss rod cover is intact. There is some white substance around the edges of the bridge and I do not know if this bridge has ever been re-glued. You can see that the white substance is present on the top of the soundboard just below the bridge. There also looks to be some work done right at the joint where the neck meets the body but again, I do not know if this neck was ever reset or if these faint marks that go against the grain were there from the factory. The body of the guitar is in overall excellent condition, with almost no wear to the back, and only minor wear / fading to the sides. At the very bottom, where the strap peg is installed, some of the finish is starting to come up a bit just near the very edges of the peg only. On the bass edge of the fingerboard, the pearloid trim starts and stops. It looks to be an intentional design. I do not know if this was added later, or if it came like this from the factory. On the treble side, the pearloid trim goes all the way from the nut to the sound hole, uninterrupted. These inlays and trim work are quite beautiful and any good light source that falls on the inlays causes the inlays to show their chatoyancy and swirly inner detail. The tuners look to be non-original and a newer addition to this guitar, as they say, “Made in Germany” on the back. I can send more photos of any aspect of this guitar if you need them. It photographed well for the eBay listing, but in person I believe it looks a bit more rough than the photos show. I’ve been told that the guitar may have been refinished, and that the truss rod cover and the pick guard are replacements. I am not an expert or anything close to it, so please research these guitars, and make a decision based on what you see in the photographs. This guitar is being sold as is so please ask questions. I have described the guitar to the best of my ability, and I may be incorrect in places, as I stated above. Please message with questions and I am happy to write back. Thank you!
