It's a maroon / purple clay like material that is hand Carved & painted? It's very chunky, solid & heavy for its size. It's first glance appearance is carved red wood. Scratch sampled an area on the Footed Pedestal & scratch sample comes off as a Grey powder, as seen in picture example. CONDITION: OVERALL GOOD. WIRE IT & ADD YOUR SHADE OF CHOICE & PERFECT LITTLE SIDE TABLE ACCENT LAMP. THIS IS A HAND-MADE ITEM, MAY SHOW AGED STORAGE WEAR AS IT WAS JUST PULLED FROM A STORAGE UNIT WHERE IT HASNT SEEN DAYLIGHT SINCE 1994. LAMP IS SLIGHTLY LOP-SIDED, I THINK THIS WAS AN IMPERFECTION AT MANUFACTURING WHEN IT WAS ON THE CLAY WHEEL.
