Description: Vintage Howard Pierce giraffe porcelain figurine pair. - Pierce made a number of giraffe designs; these have bumped manes down the back of their necks. Created in matte cream and brown glaze. - Howard Pierce is renowned in the history of Californian art pottery. His designs are known for their beautiful mid century modern style and superb quality, and are highly sought after by collectors. He established Howard Pierce Ceramics in the 1930s and continued producing until his death in 1994. - Marked with Howard Pierce stamps on base. - The smaller giraffe is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or crazing noted. The larger giraffe has a few fine cracks to the glaze on the head and neck on one side. Because it is one side only, it can be placed to the off side when displayed. No other issues noted.
