DIMENSIONS: 17”W x 13”H Biography James Francis (Jas) Murray Jas F Murray was born James Francis Murray on September 28th 1899 in Lawrence Massachusetts. In 1920 he took his first position, one of many in Boston's newspaper industry, with the old Lawrence "Telegram" to earn his tuition for the Massachusetts School of Art. Mr. Murray later joined the staff of the now defunct Boston "Post" newspaper in 1938 and remained in their employ until 1956. From there he then took on a position at the "Record American" newspaper where, for many years, his paintings of various New England scenes graced the front covers of the "Pictorial Living" Sunday magazine insert.
