Vintage John Gould - Goldfinch Thistle Birds Lithograph Style Print Framed

Description: Up for sale is a John Gould color lithograph print, which is called Goldfinch Thistle (Carduelis Elegans) The original was believed done in 1862. The artist was John Gould FRS (14 September 1804 – 3 February 1881) was an English ornithologist and bird artist. He published a number of monographs on birds, illustrated by plates that he produced with the assistance of his wife. He has been considered the father of bird study in Australia and the Gould League in Australia is named after him. This is pre-owned and is fully matted and framed behind glass. This comes from an Estate. There is some wear on the frame. The frame measures 14 ½ inches tall by 11 ¼ inches. There is a string attached on the back for easy hanging. The print colors are still bright and vibrant. This print appears to be a fine example of the lithograph style printers art. According to the US Post Office rules a claim must be filed via their website. Please DO NOT send the item back to me, because the Post Office might require you to bring it to your local post office for inspection of damage. Return it to me can invalidate the claim! I am always willing to assist with filing a claim. I do wrap all fragile items very carefully – starting with tissue paper, then bubble wrap and extra packing material to insure as safe a delivery as possible.
