All with original 1960s artwork by Ballantine books. This is a great starter set for someone new to the epic series. Books are in GOOD reading condition. One book was nibbled on by elves on the top left corner of the top of the spine and another torn at this same area (see pictures). There are creases on the top corner edge of the front paper covers with slight creasing of the spines. No marked, loose, creased, ordorous, or missing leaves. "And what is a Hobbit?
