Vintage Metal Name Plaque Sign Normel Hynes Calif CA Richfield Oil Co ?

Description: This very unique, possibly one of a kind, sign is 12" long, 3 3/4" high including the metal tabs at the bottom. And a bit over 1/4" in depth. Weight is 1 pound. The type of metal it is made from is not known. A magnet will not stick to the sign. The front has "Normel HYNES CALIF". There are no other markings on the plaque. Research would indicate this plaque was made prior to 1948 because the villages of Hynes. CA and Clearwater, CA combined to form what is now known as "Paramount", CA in 1948. "Normel" is the last name of quite a few residents of CA. I am not sure of the origin of this plaque but the condition of the sign would lead me to believe it could be from the Richfield Oil Company. The Richfield Oil Co had a refinery in Hynes, CA. It merged with United in 1923. And then merged with Atlantic Refining Co in 1966, becoming Atlantic Richfield Old Company, now known as ARCO. All of the information is an educated guess based on a lot of research. There is no guarantee that my information is correct! The sign has several places with a build up of some dark oil like substance. No cleaning has been done to the sign. Shipping is via USPS Ground Advantage with tracking and insurance.
