Handmade in Italy between 1960 and 1969, this original set is a testament to the artistry of the era. It stands at a medium size, with the creche measuring 13-3/4 inches in width and the tallest figure reaching 9-3/4 inches in height. The set is designed for adult recipients but can be cherished by anyone aged 5 and up. The set includes the 9 figures, a creche, and a light that is turned on and off with a toggle switch on the cord which is approx. 60" long, allowing for easy placement under your Christmas Tree, or on a mantle or table. It is all crafted from a combination of wood and plaster of Paris, weighing in at 2 pounds and 8 ounces. Each figure is permanently glued to the creche allowing for quick and easy storage and display without worrying if a figure will topple over and crack. The beautiful wood creche features a roof that has moss and stones glued to it to simulate snow and give it rustic charm. Also there are two nails extended at the peek of the creche so that you can hang a star or angel if you so choose! Note: On the backdrop is a slight tear in the upper right hand corner of the background scene. I took a picture of this so that you can see what I'm referring to. It is hardly noticeable and still displays very nicely! I took pictures of the nativity with and without the light so you could get an idea of what it looks like with or without the illumination.
