Description: This is a wonderful and finely rendered Vintage Old American Realism Hunting Dog Rifle Portrait Oil Painting on canvas, depicting the portrait of a crouching hunter with his American Foxhound. The subject holds several pheasants in his right hand and has his rifle leaning against his left shoulder. The style, subject matter, and quality of this artwork is reminiscent of Norman Rockwell and other American Social Realist painters of the mid 20th century. The Foxhound is especially well painted and looks incredibly lifelike and expressive. Signed and dated: "Mary Bromfield 1968" in the lower right corner. I could not find any information on this talented artist, but perhaps you know more about her or her work? Approximately 32 1/2 x 38 1/2 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 24 x 30 inches. Very good condition for age, with some light speckles of nicotine yellowing in the upper left corner (please see photos.) Acquired from an old collection in Los Angeles, California. This artwork would be an excellent addition to any hunting lodge or cabin home. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
