Vintage collectible, hand-painted, pewter thimble shaped like apail with two children (Jack and Jill) on one side, and apart of the nursery rhyme named for them on the back.The handle of the pail is not stationary, and swings up or down.Marked inside the thimble with what looks like a copyright marknext to an area that looks as if a maker mark should be. Most pewter thimbles of this type were made in England, andthis unmarked one was also likely of English origin. The thimble measures about ¾" tall with thehandle down and about 1¼" with the handle up.Across the base of the thimble (not the base of the pail), itmeasures about ¾" from side to side - not including the handle. No damage to the thimble noted. There is some very minor wear to some of the raised painted surfaces.
