This is a display of chromolithographed paper soldiers, circa 1900. These soldiers were once collected by children and probably set on wood blocks, at feet, to hold them upright. Each soldier is approx. 6 1/2" tall. Someone has artistically tipped groups of them, just at their feet, and applied them to 11" x 8 1/2" cardstock. In so doing, it has created a 3-D effect, and not ruined the figures. Backs are still visible, and some have names of men or boys stamped on backs. I have listed 23 other groups in my eBay Store.
