Description: This star sapphire ring features a light blue-gray round cabochon star sapphire weighing an estimated 9.8 carats accented by three channel set round diamonds on each side. Diamonds are estimated as 4 points in total, near colorless, VS clarity. Mounting is platinum (unmarked but tested). Size is 6.25, and easily re-sizable. Weight is 4.6 grams. This ring most likely dates from the 1930's The sapphire exhibits a six-pointed star under a direct beam of light and otherwise has a soft silky color. It is marked SK&S with a control number. SK&S is probably S. Kind & Sons, a longtime Philadelphia jewelry maker in business from 1872 to 1964. This ring is in very good condition with minimal wear consistent with age. The sapphire is a good size yet suitable for everyday wear. Mounting is well designed with the additional fine detail seen in early 20th century rings. Take a look at my other high quality jewelry.
