DESCRIPTION OF ITEM i show any problems that i noticed THIS IS A VINTAGE print, it is one of three i have listed on ebay, each individually, it is by Guy Arnoux (1886-1951) who was a prolific wartime artist and illustrator, specialized in updating the art populaire style of the images d'Épinal in prints and in posters. you can see the "laid lines" on the nice hand made paper, THIS ONE HAS A COOL WATERMARK that says , the colors are great, the paper is signed in the printing GUY ARNOUX. this print is hand colored, called Pochoir, which means "Pochoir prints are colored by hand with the help of a stencil to mask out the areas where each color is not required." very cool note: this one is a just a bit musty and has some spotting at the top, but outside of the image, A GREAT SIZE, the paper is aprox 18 x 12 inches. THIS item came from a collection of work, once owned by the amazing artist Will Gerth. This broadside is a proclamation by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, John A. Andrew, informing the people of Massachusetts that he with the consent of the Executive Council has appointed Thursday, the first day of June next to be observed as a day of humiliation and prayer throughout the Commonwealth in compliance with President Johnson's proclamation. This was to be done in recognition of the recent bereavement of the nation, the assassination of President Lincoln on April 14, 1865. The proclamation is dated May 5, 1865. The proclamation is printed in large size font so that copies could be posted for all to read. - See more at: http://lincolncollection.org/search/results/item/?q=john+a+andrew&item=79006#sthash.dNx4Rz1Y.dpufThis broadside is a proclamation by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, John A.
