Description: This is a rare, vintage horn that is in good playing condition. The horn is in original condition and is free from any major overhaul or recondition work. Signs of repair work to note- The bell has scarring from dent removal, the bow has a couple of very minor dings on the backside, and has had bell / leadpipe alignment work completed. Signs of the braces being re-soldered, but cleanly done with no ghost solder on the nickel plate, globs, or anything unsightly. A good percentage of original lacquer is intact, but the horn has various spots of loss throughout the body and is more prominent in the common areas (valve block). Playing condition is surprisingly good considering the age and it is greatly helped with thicker oils and slide grease. I use Hetman #3 on the valves, #6 on the third slide, and standard lanolin on the slides. The horn certainly has leaks from all valves due from age, but is still great fun to play on with decent compression throughout. I've played plenty of the 'real' Blessing Super Artists and this one certainly hangs. Dual-Bore version, stop rod installed from factory, bell engraving is crisp. Horn hasn't had a chem clean in a while, but only because I wanted to try to preserve the lacquer as long as possible; it has been cleaned with mild soap / water & felts changed annually since I've owned it (2017, or so). Message with any questions.
