Description: Hello everyone, I'm listing in this auction a lovely example of Salmon Falls Stoneware, a salt glazed mug or stein decorated in cobalt blue slip that depicts a ship on the open sea with clouds that was made in Dover, New Hampshire. The mug is a rare design, it measures about 6" tall, about 5 1/2" across to the edge of the handle, and about 3 1/2" across the rim. It has the expected glossy finish for salt glazed stoneware and the condition is fine for the age, with no chips, no cracks, no stains, just the expected factory inclusions from being a handmade piece of pottery. The design is bold, and it will make a great addition to any collection or to use for display.
