Description: Vintage Shakespeare Wonderod Spin Fishing Rod SP-520 7’0” This is a vintage two-piece Shakespeare Wonderod spin fishing rod. Model # SP-520. The rod is 7’0” in length and weighs 5.7 oz. KWIK-Taper design from Shakespeare’s Executive Series. Designed for lure weights of 1/4-1/2 oz. Rod will handle both monofilament and braided lines since it sports a full complement of Carboloy guides and tip top. Rod dates to 1966-67. Rod has a 6” extra select specie cork rear grip with a black aluminum butt cap and a black monogrammed rubber butt bumper. 5” black and silver sliding hood ring locking fixed spinning reel seat. 3” specie cork foregrip with a black aluminum cap and a black winding check. Standard stainless steel hookeeper is an addition to the rod. There are five (5) stainless steel frame Carboloy ring spinning guides and a Carboloy tip top. Rolled and welted black sizematic ferrule with a rubber “O” ring. Blade is Wonderod white with dark grey vintage Gudebrod nylon guide winds and black nylon extensions. Specie cork has been cleaned, reconditioned and sealed. Rod is finished with a premium grade of glass rod varnish. Rod packs in two compartment Cabela’s knit rod bag enclosed in an orange Flambeau rod storage tube. Will ship UPS ground.
