Description: Vintage silver decanter or bottle PORT label. It has a baroque Bacchus (or Dionysus) and grape leaf vine motif. Bacchus (or Dionysus) was the Greek god of wine, music and dance. The decanter label features Dionysus reclining and being given a glass of wine by a Putto (a naked chubby winged boy angel). The label measures 2.5" wide x 1.75" high on a silver chain with a 3" drop. Decanter labels were very popular in England throughout the 1800s and 1900s. Excellent condition for a vintage silver item.
