Description: A Radiola 16 by RCAIntroduced Sep. 1927, this was RCA's last of the 1920's conventional (using 201A tubes) battery sets. Not a huge seller (compared to the 17 & 18), 85,320 were made. By the late 1920's battery sets were on their way out. The price was $69.50 without tubes. RCA's last radio of the '20's featuring battery operation was the Radiola 21.This is a compact little set, fashioned like the Radiola 17 & 18 except a shorter case and minus the AC power supply. In fact the chassis is identical to it's AC operated cousin's with only the tube line-up and the volume control changed. The tubes are 5 - UX-201A's & 1- UX-112 but not included.
