Description: For sale here is this beautiful piece of craftsmanship - a Vintage Ukrainian Embroidered Pillow Case 16"x18" that is a piece of Handmade Decorative Folk Art. The needlework of this pillow case can not be over stated. Pure art. Backstory - I purchase a box of vintage needlework/linen items - pillow cases, tableclothes, etc. from a house sale of a Ukrainian woman who had passed away at the age of 100. Her daughters were selling the house's contents as they had recently sold their mother's home and had to get it cleaned out for the new owners. The daughters did not live in the area and needed to get home to their families. I know this because I asked why they were not keeping the items I purchased and they said they both had already boxed up lots of what their mom had and these were the items they did not want. Would have loved to have seen what they kept! The needlework is done on silk, and the black cording is hand-attached (see images). The needlework on the inside of the pillow case is a neat and precise as the needlework on the outside! Can't say enough about how I love this pillow case!
