Description: We offer for your consideration this south American Cowboy knife. These knives are called Verijeros/Gaucho knives, depending on the country, Argentina or Brazil, respectively. This is a vintage Elmo Inox knife with a silver plated sheath and knife handle. This is a very ornate version of a more classic working knife, more of a symbol of status, than the more practical working versions of this knife. The silver plate of this knife has developed a very nice even patina, and I have no doubt it would shine up beautifully if you decided to polish it up. The blade is stamped "ELMO" (maker) and "Inox" (which means stainless steel in Spanish)The blade is etched on both sides with stylized images of a horses head and a bull. The blade has a spear point, plain edge, and the point is in very nice condition. If you are a collector of knives from different cultures, this knife will be a very interesting and attractive knife to add to your collection
