Description: Fabulous vintage brooch (pin) with prong-set crystal/glass stones from SHERMAN. The shape is a swirl, i.e. not a flat brooch. There is an arrangement of small round stones in the shape of a flower at one end, shown on top in a photo above. If you look closely at the photo that shows the back, at the top is a bar inside the domed area, i.e. vertical to the bar with the clasp. It MIGHT be possible slip a fine chain behind to bar to wear as a pendant, but that would depend on the size of the necklace clasp. Silver-tone metal settings. The crystals are mostly marquise shapes and small rounds. All crystals accounted for. Clasp slides well. Sherman hallmark stamped on the back. The stones are purple and lavender marquise shapes, and round aurora crystals that have a lot of fire (but can be difficult to photograph with their changeable colors.) The aurora crystals flash with lots of violets, blues, and golds, but I'm not sure what the color of those crystals are underneath all the flash - my best guess is lavender, but not clear, but I can't be sure. Please allow of differences in the color display on different computer monitors. I try to describe as accurately as I can, but such are my photography skills. This brooch was made back when high quality manufacturers of fashion jewelry treated good glass crystals like finer stones, i.e. with prong-set craftsmanship. I no longer have the original gift box, but will include a one with the purchase. DIMENSIONS: Approx. 2" x 1 1/5" CONDITION: Excellent, gently used - I see no sign of wear. It has been carefully stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home. I am helping my sister do a good Kondo-style decluttering of the jewelry chest, and she still has a number of Sherman brooches. (Great on lapels, for pizazz!) PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE AS I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS. I try to be as accurate as I can in the description. TERMS: PAYPAL ONLY, please. U.SA. buyers only, please. I ship USPS with delivery confirmation within 48 hours of payment, often sooner. To note: I now separate out the shipping charges from the cost of the item (I used to build it into the selling price.) The IRS drastically lowered the amount that can be earned from third-party platforms (like eBay, Craig's List, etsy, etc.) that is excused from paying income tax. I want the IRS to clearly know how much I actually earn from selling our old stuff (that I already paid sales tax on!!) vs. what I immediately pay to USPS for shipping. My charge to the seller is often less than my actual shipping costs. After many complaints, the IRS postponed the reg for 2024, but we'll see what happens in 2025 and beyond. Thank you for looking!
