Description: Original Nautical Watercolor Signed John Wiley- John J. Wiley Jr., formerly of Feeding Hills, and Springfield, MA died October 26, 2016-(93 years old) He studied art as a hobby until he retired in 1985. He participated in art classes at the Springfield Museum of Fine Art, Bay Path College, and the Mansion House. He studied art under Jack Flynn, Paul Scopp, Wadsworth Hines, and Armando Balboni. From 1985 on, he painted exclusively in his favorite medium, watercolor. In 1986, through a lottery grant project entitled Agawam Presents Art, the Agawam Public Library had the opportunity to purchase two of Mr. Wiley’s watercolors. One is entitled Country House and the other Morning Walk. These paintings were part of the circulating art collection. He also participated in many regional exhibits. Mr. Wiley’s works are in private collections across the United States and abroad.. A very nice watercolor by local New England Artist John Wiley- It features a view of the CT. River with a small sailboat tied off to a buoy. Great original nautical decor it is matted and needs a nice frame to bring out the real beauty in this painting.
