Description: Up for sale is a vintage wooden pillbox souvenir for a visitor to HAGI in YAMAGUCHI pref. in JAPAN. The shape is likely INRO( 印籠) samurai's pillbox (usually oval-shaped containers held together with a cord and hung from the user's obi). Yoshida Shoin is the very famous Samurai in EDO era (please check him at Wikipedia).The Japanese on the case is one of his poems (this is from his letter) to his parents. Depth of inside is a little over one inch long. Please zoom all photos for the condition.It has some signs of age and use but in good shape as vintage. It measures about 2 3/8 '' tall (marked on a photo). The color may vary due to the devices/monitors and reflections.
