Description: This is a Vintage WWI French Lebel Rifle Cruciform Bayonet with Scabbard. This Bayonet & Scabbard are in Very Good Condition. The Bayonet is in excellent condition. The Scabbard has some minor pitting in places. This is shown in close up in the last two pictures. This Bayonet has a nickel handle. These bayonets were originally made with brass handles, then were switched to nickel, but when WWI started the need to conserved nickel caused a switch back to brass handles. So, this bayonet was made prior to WWI. The Bayonet is 25" long. The Blade alone is 20 3/8" long. The Bayonet and scabbard weigh 1 LB 6 OZ. Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge.
