It is also a nectar source for the Southern Rocky Mountain Orangetip, Stella Orangetip, West Virginia White, and Falcate Orangetip butterflies. This plant is grown as an annual all over but is considered a tender perennial where it can live through the Winter in USDA Hardiness Zones 7 to 10.
