Masonite panel alone is 16" X 20". Photo #11 shows texture of the oil on Masonite panel. Salko exhibited in Rhode Island, Philadelphia Pennsylvania,Portland Maine and the West Coast and is in many private collections. The Parisian scene is unique in its treatment & setting and has deeper colors than the usual Impressionist paintings. "Samuel Salko (1888 - 1968) was active/lived in Pennsylvania and the Russian Federation. He is known as a painter and decorator.Salko was born in Russia and studied in art schools there, but left as a young man arriving in Seattle by way of China. He worked in different trades there before he came to Philadelphia where he was naturalized as a US citizen. He won a scholarship to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and during WWII he worked as artist/illustrator at the Frankford Arsenal and received a certificate from the War Department for his praiseworthy contribution to the war effort".
