My RVN military drivers license issued in Chu Lai on Sept 15, 1968. I was in OCS for half of 1968--Tet started January 30, MLK was killed April 4, RFK was killed June 6. There were riots all over the country. When we left Ft. Benning in uniform, we were more often rocked as not. I left OCS in August, was in RVN by September, in 249th hospital in Japan from October to December, and back home before Christmas, out of the Army. I was wounded 5 days before the TET offensive officially ended. What a year! I've carried license ever since--they had only misspelled my name and hometown. ©2018—edge1944
