Featuring an easy-clean design and measuring 6.5, 5.5, and 4.75 in width, these canisters are perfect for storing dry goods like flour, sugar, and coffee. The set also includes three jars and three corresponding lids/covers, making them a great addition to your vintage or farmhouse kitchen, and provide a beautiful, decorative storage and organizational collection. On the rare occasion that these pieces may need to be washed, careful handwashing and drying is recommended. * PLEASE NOTE: Inside each of the 3 top ceramic covers of these canisters are 3 removable plastic or rubber seals that are intended to create an airtight seal, and still provide that to a degree that is very reasonable for their age. We repeatedly tested these covers to be able to accurately describe them in a "for sale" listing. It seems that 2 of them create a strong enough seal, but one of the seals may have been used more often over time because although it does create a seal, it is looser than the other two lids/covers. I just wish to suggest that the top lid not be used to pick the cannister up because the weight of the bottom may drop. It's probably not a good idea to pick up any ceramic vintage cannister by the lid only in any case. (This lovely set is 32 years old ) In my experience, plastic or rubber seals in vintage items do deteriorate over many years and should probably replaced to provide optimum function regarding their ability to be absolutely strong and airtight. If the purchase of this set is just for display, they are just fine the way they are. In either case, I would just like to strongly suggest that the pieces to this set be lifted from the bottom while supporting the top, just to be sure that these vintage ceramic treasures don't fall or get broken.
