Description: This is an original vintage (probably 1940s or 1950s) Carl Bakula hand-tinted photograph on light paperboard. We have had dozens of photos from the Bakula estate and this is one of only a few that were hand-tinted. Overall size: 11" x 14". Image size: Approx. 7 1/2" x 9 1/4". More 1950s era glamour photos listed; NOTE that the five glamour photos from the Bakula estate that are listed in this auction appear to be the last of these that we have. Excellent condition except for a few dents, a couple of light creases (outside the image area), and a couple of corner dings. This photo is from the estate of Carl Bakula, who was an Army recon photographer during WWII and then went on to win awards for his work in New York and Minneapolis. He spent many years as the lead photographer for Dayton's department stores in Minnesota and his photos appeared in their catalogs, on their billboards, and in other promotional material. To keep the shipping cost down, this will be shipped in an envelope between cardboard stiffeners. Contact us if you'd prefer that it be shipped in a box at an additional cost.
