Description: Vintage Madame Alexander Wendykins / Alexander-kins ~ Fully Dressed Brunette Bend Knee Strung Doll (Probably from the 1960's) with Vintage Ensemble Hard to Find Red and White Polka Dot Sleeveless Dress (TAGGED) with Red Straw or Horsehair Hat ~ Comes with Taffeta Panties, Knit Socks and Side Snap Shoes I will fully describe the doll and her outfit. Doll : Brunette bent knee strung doll. I believe that she is a newer doll than her dress. I think she is probably from the 1960's. She has the criss cross center part wig in dark brown. She has bangs with flip curls. There are some pieces to the left side that have pulled loose from the tight curls and are now flyaways. The rest looks pretty good and the hair is shiny. She has nice face paint and still has lots of peach / orange cheek color. Her eyes need cleaning .. they don't look cloudy on the inside but do on the outside. She has no major issues .. complete set of fingers and toes. Her belly has some grayish marks that were probably from a doll stand. She is marked ALEX on her upper back. Outfit: This is a vintage set but I can not find the dress in any of my books or online. I'm not sure what year but anywhere from the 1950's - 1960's. I believe it to be one of the school dresses but could be wrong. The school dresses don't typically have the bows at the waist. The hat was with the doll but I'm not sure it belongs to this set. It looked cute so I left it. Hat: The hat is a red straw or horsehair hat. It has a red velvet hat band that crosses in the back. The edge of the hat has a thin band of mesh straw .. the ends are broken (see pics) to give it a frayed look. The hat no longer has the chin strap. Dress : The best part of this listing. The dress is a Red and Cream White Polka Dot Print. It's sleeveless with a round neckline and full skirt. There is cream white rick rack trim around the neckline. There is cream white trim around the arm holes, on the bodice and down on the skirt. There are two little cream satin bows at the waist. The back closes with two square snaps. The dress is TAGGED with vintage Madame Alexander tag. It does not say Alexander-kins but instead says Madame Alexander in script. The dress is free of holes, stains or any major issues. It's a nice red color with no bleeding. I don't believe it's been laundered as there is no tag fading or fraying. Panties: Cream taffeta ones with elastic waist (a little overstretched) and lace leg trim. No stains or holes. Knit Socks : Cream knit socks with no holes or runs. They have collected lint from shoes. Black Side Snap Shoes : She does come complete with black side snap shoes. They are velvety shoes with black greek key snaps and cardboard bottoms. I will package the doll in just her panties so that you may inspect the doll before dressing her. I will put the doll and her clothing into a clear baggy and then package the item.
