Description: This sculpture is a plaster cast of the original piece that is in the Louvre in Paris France. It was made at the Gipsformerei Museum in Berlin Germany for Alva Studios New York. The information that we received from the Gipsformerie Museum says that this piece would have been produced anywhere between 1945- 1959. The wooden base measures 8 3/4" x 3.5", The hippo is approximately 8" long, and its 5" total in height. The hippo does have some flaws especially on his right ear.
