Description: This is a stunning locket. Rich, beautiful patina along with the applied solid gold leaves and carved figure of a bird in flight make this a pretty special piece. Best one I have come across in quite sometime. I am not sure what type of material the bird is made of. Either some type of early celluloid or even possibly horn. This is a museum quality piece in my opinion. The pendant is ( 2 1/2" ) 64mm north to south including the bale by ( 1 1/2" ) 38mm east to west. The bale opening is 8mm. It is fully hallmarked, has been tested, and verified weighing in at 20.1 grams. There are no problems. This item is pre-owned and there will be ordinary and normal use marks.
