The scan function works, produces a small popping sound from the speaker as it changes from one frequency to the next. As I recall, it always did this. After adjusting volume & squelch It occasionally pauses on several channels/signals and emits static. I have the correct card in, but the towns here may no longer simulcast on the low frequency bands. I heard no transmissions. Top of the unit has some scratching from having a bracket attached (no bracket with this now, but the knob screws for the bracket are present), no dents. Dials and buttons all work well. As with most electronics, it gets a little warm after testing for hours (not hot - can comfortably keep my hand on it). I thought I found an issue with the scan feature slowing down, but a full reset overnight and it's functioning fine. This unit, all manuals, cards, etc is being Sold as is for use, parts or repair should it need it. I do my best to inform potential buyers exactly what I know about the items I'm sell, and I'm not an electrical engineer so not qualified to say if this is in excellent working form or not.
