Description: Large coffee pot, Sigma Italian Majolica Pottery Earthenware, Hand Painted and signed .AM.M. VINTAGE (EARLY 1990's) Pattern: Garafano, Blue Carnation Measures approximately:10-1/4 inches tall (to top of lid) x 9 inches wide (handle to spout) Capacity: approximately 50 fluid ounces / 6 Cups Condition: There are 2 tiny paint chips on the rim of the lid (see pics). One is on the side of the rim, the other is on the bottom which really doesn't show. See last 3 pics. Other than that, it is in EXCELLENT USED CONDITION with no (other) chips, cracks or crazing. Note: The colors show differently in different lighting. Some look deep blue others very light. I would say it's more a medium blue. From the Internet:Since the Middle Ages, kilns have been alight in Faenza, the "City of the Ceramics", producing top-quality ceramics. Marco Polo brought pasta and the Garofano pattern from the Orient in 1279. The Garofano design was initially developed in the Italian region of Lombardia, but it later became a world-famous signature-pattern from the Majolica town of Faenza. OF-497/19
