Description: This listing includes 1 Dawn Blonde & 1 Angie + 15 vintage items from Dawns Fashion line + 1 FREE Bonus Blonde Dawn head & a pair of blue/green shoes. The Dawn Doll Line was manufactured by Topper Toys starting in 1969. There are numerous reasons why these dolls were so special. 1. They where ONLY 6.5” tall. 2.They had rooted hair & eyelashes. 3. They were pretty cheap compared to Barbie (which at the time was their direct competition) 4. The faces were hand painted. 5. The boy dolls had molded hair & hand painted eyes. For the time, it’s incredible the artwork that went into sculpting & designing them. All of that, right there, gave them such an edge up in the market. How cool are the ensembles though? So trendy & stylish (even for today). These Original Angie & Dawn Dolls are 54 years old & although they do have signs of age creeping in - they still look GORGEOUS, very stylish & incredibly fashionable, all these years later. These dolls (along with dozens more) were literally kept in the dark & temperature controlled for DECADES, which no-doubt, kept them looking this fabulous all these years later. So if your new to the whole doll game & your interested in this line – these pieces would be a nice start. As time goes by they will be harder & harder too find & who wants a reproduction, when you can own an original?
