Many came from well known department stores, etc… They were produced in Japan in the 1960’s - 1970’s. Some are unused, like new or have stains or other damage so read the description and examine the photos carefully before purchasing to determine the exact condition of this particular item and its value to you. ABOUT FUROSHIKI: Furoshiki are traditional, multi-purpose cloths that are used for carrying “ bento" lunch boxes, clothing, etc. and there are numerous traditional ways to tying them and books are available to show you how. Furoshiki are sometimes made of silk but since silk is expensive and delicate, cotton or synthetics ‘jinken’ that mimic silk are much more popular as you don’t have to worry about their getting wet or stained.
