Description: For sale is an antique brass Gurley transit with box tripod and some accessories. This particular instrument has a label for McKinney Blueprint Paper Company surveying equiptment and drawing materials of Los Angeles on the inside of the lid. Stadia for this transit is .81 feet or 24.6 centimeters in front of center of the instrument. Has 1980 on compass face and Pat July 25 1916 on arbor. This instrument belonged to Walter J Kubon born in Fairbanks Alaska 1910 Graduated from Alaska Fairbanks U oversight degree in civil engineering 1931. Includes some info on his career and some brief descriptions of projects he worked on. This is a beautiful piece that would make a great display piece. Leather carrying strap on box intact. The tripod is in great shape one of the wing nuts was lost and replaced by a square bolt at some point cap for tripod missing was replaced by K&E 3 1/2 x8 plastic cap. Includes Plumbob with string and brass plate solid cone cylinder that Says 115 on it looks like it was one piece at one point don’t know what it is it was in box the box.
