Description: Here is the Bison figurine from the Whoppas set 2 released in 1977. Starting in 1976, Wade introduced three sets of five animals each, which were marketed under the name of “Whoppas”. The series remained in production until 1981. The fifteen figurines are all marked “Wade England” on the side of the base, even though the figurines comprising set 1 were manufactured by Wade (Ireland) Ltd. In Portadown, Northern Ireland. When the Whoppas were discontinued as a retail line, surplus stock was used for the short lived 1981 Canadian Red Rose tea premium promotion. The Set 1 of five figurines includes Polar Bear, Hippo, Brown Bear, Tiger and Elephant. The Set 2 of five figurines includes Bison, Wolf, Bobcat, Chipmunk and Raccoon. The Set 3 of five figurines includes Fox, Badger, Otter, Stoat and Hedgehog. Photos are of the figurine you will receive.
