Definitely not an EXACT clone, but 100% indistinguishable in a final mix. I guarantee you there is no way you could hear the difference. I can’t. Such a big yet soft sound. IMO the Neve sound is the sound of larger than life rock ‘n’ roll. Something magical happens when a neve preamp “softens” a bands sound. It just makes it blend better with other instruments. API is the opposite sound. Extremely sharp and surgical. Neve makes cheap instruments sound better. It adds a glue to the overall sound. Please ask any questions before purchasing.
