Description: Vintage Sterling Silver dance purse from the 1920’s. Beautiful condition. Holds coins and has a mirror and a section for dance cards (or cigarettes). Sterling wrist chain. Engraved with the letter “R”. Made by Watrous Manufacturing. Watrous was a silversmith founded in 1896 in Wallingford, Connecticut. Some of its pieces are in museum collections, including the Yale University Art Gallery. After 1898, Watrous Mfg. Co. became part of the International Silver Company.
