Description: Naked Hollywood was the name of a Photo exhibit of Photographs by Weegee in Los Angeles shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in LA, from November 13, 2011 to February 27, 2012. Weegee, (Born - Usher Fellig, 1899 in Ukraine, Died,1968, New York), was a freelance photojournalist who worked on the streets of New York City living the gritty life of a "nocturnal, cigar smoking "photog" ", combining scenes of everyday life with dramatic images of murder victims, police raids, and urban disasters. He became something of a celebrity, in 1945, when he published, Naked City, a book of photos culled from his work in NYC. Weegee moved to Los Angeles, in 1947, and spent roughly four years in LA photographing everything from film premieres and Hollywood award ceremonies, to skid row, store windows, and strip joints. The culmination of this work, was a book called Naked Hollywood, published in 1953. This 2011 exhibit at MOCA in LA was a showing of photos from that book and his work in LA. This is the handout, 12 page book, from that show, and telling the story of Weegee (some photos, mostly text). He was also the subject and inspiration for a good film starring Joe Pesci, called Public Eye. The book, 5.5 x 7.5 inch, 12 page paperback, is in good condition, pages clean and readable, some scuffs and a few scratches on cover.
